What Cutty Wore #002
Hey, guys! Back again with another #WHATCUTTYWORE post. Today, we talk denim.
Denim is everywhere. It’s a classic fabric that most of us grew up wearing. Every year, there’s a new cut of jeans that’s supposed to dethrone skinny jeans … boyfriend jeans, mom jeans, bell bottom. We go out and try to find a pair of the new trendy jean that doesn’t accentuate the lower tummy we’re STILL working on or the fact that the Beyonce booty gene skipped you (i.e. ME). Here’s the thing…
… denim isn’t just for pants! We get so caught up in the daily wear of denim pants that we can forget to incorporate it throughout our wardrobe. You can find really great summer pieces in this ubiquitous textile. Fit is super important though:
A short denim dress with a pair of simple white low top sneakers and accessories will always make you look cool without trying too hard. However, if you’ve hit 30 years old (like me) and have all of a sudden become self conscious of skirts and dresses being too short then you can go long. Another reason why I’ve gone longer in length these days is because my thighs and hips make it too much of a hassle to wear short pieces. If the material is 100% cotton, then it makes my butt look flat, and if it stretches then I’m constantly pulling it down from rising. I’m digging knee length for myself – CUTTY
